Joy of January Family & Fun: Wine Cork Crafts!

We are overlapping last week’s theme of FAMILY and this week’s theme of FUN for our Joy of January celebration! We’re highlighting fun ways to connect with your family… through wine cork crafts!

Don’t worry, if you’re a little short on wine corks for some of these awesome wine cork crafts, you can always stop by RoxyAnn and ask if we have any wine corks in stock! We usually have a small supply that we are happy to share with you and your family.

Wine Cork Crafts: Garden Markers

Ok, we are obsessed with this simple wine cork craft from Home BNC! Using simple ingredients from around this house, you can create these awesome garden markers for your spring planting projects. Gather the whole family together, grab some skewers, leftover wine corks, a hot glue gun & some Sharpies. If you want to maximize your project time, pick some terra cotta pots and seedlings and plant a spring windowsill potted herb garden at the same time!

For an added POP of fun and color, use a water-based paint to make each cork a different color! You’ll have beautiful colorful – and functional – garden markers in minutes– just in time for spring planting!

Wine Cork Crafts: Mini Planters

How cute are these mini planter magnets from Upcycle That?! This craft does require a little more help from adults, because you’ll need to hollow out the inside of each cork using a small pocket knife or razor. After you’ve hollowed out each cork, add a little potting soil and a succulent cutting. With a little supervision, your kiddos can glue mini magnets on the back of each cork planter, and voilà!

Add a beautiful touch of greenery and life to any room in the house!

Wine Cork Crafts: Yard Stick Bulletin Board

This yard stick wine cork bulletin board is such a creative craft because it works for so many things! It could be used to measure kids height as they grow by adding little pins with their name, age, and the date. Or, hang your holiday cards and notes vertically so you can remember all your friends and loved ones this season. Even if you just use it for a place to keep post-it reminders and grocery lists, we think it’s a super cute way to keep important things all in once place.

For this craft, simply pick up a piece of inexpensive trim board from your local hardware store. You can either cut the corks in half (to double your length) or keep them whole. Just use a line of hot glue on the back of each cork piece, and glue down the length of the trim board!

Once again, our pro-tip is to add some life and color to your little cork board by painting each of the corks with a water-based paint before gluing them to the trim board. You could even get a little fancy with us and put them in a pattern or according to a room’s pre-existing color palette. Get as imaginative as you like: after all, that’s what craft time is for!

Wine Cork Crafts: Holiday Wreath

This wreath from RecyclArt might be one of our favorite wine cork crafts, because it’s just so easy: use any wreath form, made out of either foam or wire, and just get gluing! You can make the corks go in one direction, or in all different directions for some fun movement and a layered effect, like the wreath pictured.

Paint the corks in different colors and hot glue on accessories to turn this wreath into a beautiful piece of decor for any holiday!

What other fun and creative crafts can you do with your kids from some leftover corks and glue?!  We’d love to see your crafts come to life! Just post your photos on social media and tag RoxyAnn Winery, and use the hashtag #RoxyAnnWineryJoyOfJanuary!

We’ve got way more fun content lined up for the Joy of January, so stay tuned!
