Giving Back: Redemption Ridge Red [2024]

Using A Delicious Red Wine As An Avenue For Giving Back

At RoxyAnn Winery, we have always held a strong belief about the importance of giving back to the community. In 2019, we decided to partner with a non-profit organization in Medford, Oregon called Redemption Ridge. This organization worked to assist women who had been the victims of sexual abuse and trafficking and helped not only provide them a safe home but helped enable them to build a new life with important and necessary resources. In an effort to raise funds for this special organization, we blended and bottled an exceptional red wine, our Redemption Ridge Red. This delectable blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Pinot Noir has been enjoyed by so many, and it symbolizes our commitment to community and providing support wherever we are able.

Unfortunately, Redemption Ridge had to close due to labor shortages following the Covid-19 pandemic, but our commitment to using $10 from every bottle sold of Redemption Ridge Red to do good in our community has never wavered. We continue to use the proceeds to benefit local organizations and non-profits in Medford and the greater surrounding areas of the Rogue Valley.

Over the last year, we have dedicated ourselves to supporting two important organizations that do an incredible work in our community and beyond. In this blog, we will give you a little background of each organization and hopefully you’ll be encouraged by the amazing work that is happening every time you purchase a bottle of RoxyAnn Wine!

Rebuilding Together Rogue Valley

At RoxyAnn Winery, one of the organizations we are thrilled to donate to is Rebuilding Together Rogue Valley and their impactful Safe-at-Home program. This program focuses on helping low-income homeowners, particularly seniors and individuals with disabilities, by providing essential home repairs and safety modifications. From installing grab bars and wheelchair ramps to fixing structural issues, Safe-at-Home ensures that residents can live securely and comfortably in their own homes. This initiative plays a critical role in fostering independence and well-being for our neighbors who need it most. Supporting this program reflects our commitment to giving back to the Medford and Rogue Valley communities that have embraced us throughout the years. We are honored to contribute to the meaningful work being done to build a safer, stronger, and more caring community—one bottle at a time. Together, we can make a lasting difference for our friends and neighbors, ensuring that everyone has a safe place to call home.

We Will For William by Cure Rare Disease

The second organization we will be donating our  Redemption Ridge Red proceeds ($10 from every bottle sold) to this year is both hugely important globally and personally dear to our hearts. November 2nd from 5pm to 9pm we will be hosting the second annual Casino Night at RoxyAnn Winery to benefit Cure Rare Disease and We Will For William. There will be games, raffle prizes, food for purchase and more. Aside from donating our space and raffle prizes, $10 from every bottle sold of Redemption Ridge Red this quarter will go toward this meaningful movement that is working hard daily to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy, specifically Duchenne Syndrome.

The mission of Cure Rare Disease is to enable and finance the development of life-saving genetic medicines for rare and ultra-rare patient populations previously deemed too rare to treat. To realize this goal, their unique ecosystem facilitates collaboration between world-renowned researchers and clinicians, policy experts and our generous donors. Cure Rare Disease is fundamentally changing the rare and ultra-rare disease experience and burden for millions of people around the world with our discoveries and methods—while bringing hope to patients waiting for a cure. You can also read more about the local efforts being done by We Will For William, a beautiful family that lives within our own community who have a beautiful son, William, battling Duchenne. We hope you’ll help us support this incredible cause by attending our Casino Night event (tickets available HERE), purchasing some bottles of Redemption Ridge Red this quarter, and spreading the word about the wonderful work being done to fight for a cure against this life-changing disease.

We’ve been giving back for awhile!

While these are the two organizations we have donated our proceeds to this year, over the years we have had the joy and pleasure of donating to several important causes or collaborating with organizations locally. We’ve highlighted a few organizations that we have been honored to partner with in different ways. Each organization has been encouraged and supported by the generous winery customers who have invested in our Redemption Ridge Red, which is an investment in delicious wine… but more importantly in giving back to our community!

If you have an organization that is dear to your heart and is doing good in the Rogue Valley, we would love to hear about them! Feel free to contact us to give your suggestions on a non-profit that could benefit from our support through our Redemption Ridge Red!

The Hillcrest Committee is an organization originally formed in 1946 by Nan Day, grandmother of current owners, Chad Day and Crissie Olson. She was asked to head the first unit of the American Cancer Society in Jackson County, Oregon. She asked for newcomers to Medford and physicians’ wives to work with her to send letters and educational materials to everyone listed in the telephone book, and to solicit funds for the American Cancer Society.

Over the years, The Hillcrest Committee has grown and in 2013 became a legally incorporated 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation–The Southern Oregon Foundation Supporting a Cure for Cancer.

Their role in giving back to the community has also grown: they now work to support many different organizations whose purpose is prevention of cancer, saving lives and eliminating suffering from cancer, and/or research, education and service related to cancer.

The Hearts & Vines Foundation

In 1993,  Mark Wisnovsky and Chris Borovansky developed a plan to raise funds to support the Dunn House, a local domestic violence shelter, while highlighting the burgeoning wine industry of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Since that time the foundation’s goal has expanded and their mission has grown to state that they aim to fund all local community-based youth and family programs with a focus on the elimination of domestic violence through education, prevention and intervention.

Within four years of the initial concept, the Hearts & Vines Foundation became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and in the forty years since its conception the Hearts and Vines Foundation has disbursed nearly 3.4 million dollars as grants to the many dedicated organizations actively working to serve, educate and help prevent domestic violence in our region.

In June of 2023, we were proud to host the Annual Hearts & Vines Charity Auction and Dinner and donated several cases of Redemption Ridge Red for the charity auction and dinner. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to support a foundation that is such a big part of the organizations giving back in Southern Oregon.

Redemption Ridge Red: A wine blend the proceeds of which RoxyAnn Winery uses in giving back to the community.Redemption Ridge Red

Our Redemption Ridge Red is the perfect 50/50 blend of our RoxyAnn Winery Tempranillo and Pinot Noir. Since the production of this wine, we have discontinued growing and bottling a Pinot Noir, so enjoying a bottle of Redemption Ridge could be one of your last chances to savor the smooth, earthy tones of our amazing estate-grown Pinot Noir.

The smooth and savory notes of the Pinot Noir mingle with the depth and spiciness of our Tempranillo to create a smooth red wine with a delicious and slightly peppery finish.

The Redemption Ridge Red is the perfect red blend to serve at your upcoming holiday dinners, or to send as gifts for friends and family this season! You can order online and we will ship the wines directly to your (or your loved one’s) front door!

Our commitment to community giving exemplifies our passion for creating a better world. As a valued member of the RoxyAnn community, every sip you take of this special wine becomes an act of kindness and support for these impactful causes. So, as you savor the flavors of Redemption Ridge Red, you can also savor the knowledge that your enjoyment contributes to a brighter and more compassionate community through giving back.

Recognizing The Most Important Ingredient: YOU!

We are incredibly honored to serve as a beloved community staple, and it brings us great joy to give back to the community that has welcomed us with open arms for over 20 years. Through our ongoing donations, special events, and various initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those who make our community vibrant and special. It’s our way of saying thank you for your unwavering support.

Something that is so important to remember is that while $10 of every bottle of Redemption Ridge Red go directly to non-profits and charitable organizations in the valley, every single time you support our winery with a purchase of any glass, bottle, or case of wine you are enabling us to continue giving back to the Rogue Valley.

We are well aware that our amazing and loyal Wine Club Members, friends, neighbors, and other members of our community are the true backbone of what we do. We are thrilled we get to produce delicious wines and spend time celebrating with you all through special events, Wine Club Release parties, and more. But we wouldn’t be anything without the overwhelming support we receive from you, Southern Oregon!

We are forever grateful for the role we get to play in our community and in your lives. We will continue to cherish that privilege and do our utmost to give right back to the community in which we live, one glass at a time.
