Merlot Mulled Wine

A mulled wine might be on the more traditional side of this list, but there’s a reason it’s a classic! And this yummy recipe from Bon Appétit is no exception.

Invite over your favorite people, slip on a pair of cozy socks, and enjoy a glass of this robust mulled wine by the fireside while you chat the night away. You’ll be warmed through with the glow of friendship and Merlot!

RoxyAnn Pro Tip: switch out the tawny port for some RoxyAnn Winery Founder’s Reserve (available for purchase in our Tasting Room) and you’ll be in for a real treat!

20 whole cloves
2 tangerines, clementines, or small oranges
2 750-ml bottles Merlot
3 cups fresh apple cider
8 apples (optional)
2 cinnamon sticks plus more for garnish (garnish optional)
2 green cardamom pods, cracked
2 cups (500 ml) tawny port

Step 1

Press stem (pointed) end of 10 whole cloves into each of 2 tangerines, clementines, or small oranges, piercing through the skin. Place citrus in a large pot and add 2 750-ml bottles Merlot, 3 cups fresh apple cider, 8 apples (if using), 2 cinnamon sticks, and 2 green cardamom pods, cracked. Bring to a bare simmer over medium-low heat; cook gently for 20 minutes.

Do Ahead: Mulled wine can be made to this point up to 2 hours ahead. Cover and let stand at room temperature. Rewarm gently over medium-low heat before continuing.

Step 2

Stir in 2 cups (500 ml) tawny port or RoxyAnn Winery Founder’s Reserve. Divide among 12 glasses; garnish each with a cinnamon stick (if using) and an apple, if desired.

A fall wine cocktail featuring a Tempranillo: the flavors of fall. The cocktails are prepared in glass mugs with handles and are garnished with slices of orange and apple.

Tempranillo Apple Cider Fall Wine Cocktail

We love this incredible recipe by The Salty Marshmallow! But we have to admit, we did take a little liberty with the ingredients list. Instead of a lighter red or white wine, we opted for our rich and peppery Tempranillo, to really bring some heat to this beverage! And oh my, was the result delightful!

Another great option would be to use our RoxyAnn Winery Redemption Ridge Red, a red wine we created to benefit nonprofit organizations and charities in the Rogue Valley.

This beautiful blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Pinot Noir would create the perfect silky yet spicy ingredient to add to the mix. And this autumn treat will taste even better knowing that your purchase of Redemption Ridge will be going toward doing good in our community!

1 750 ML bottle Tempranillo
4 cups apple cider
1/2 cup cinnamon whiskey
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3-4 cinnamon sticks
1 large Honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced
1 large orange, sliced

Step 1

Combine the wine, cider, whiskey, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a large pot and whisk to combine.

Step 2

Place the pot on the stove over medium heat and add the sliced apples and oranges.

Step 3

Bring the mixture to a light simmer and continue simmering for 20 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the pot from the heat. Ladle the wine into mugs and garnish with extra cinnamon sticks, sliced apples, and oranges as desired.

Petite Sirah Blackberry Fizz

The sumptuous blend of Petite Sirah and blackberries in this fall wine cocktail recipe from Yummly mingle together to create a nostalgic drink that feels like a walk down memory lane.

Comfortable and cozy enough to enjoy while curled up on the couch with a good book, but also fancy enough to serve to guests at an evening dinner party, this mouthwatering refreshment works for any occasion!

1 oz. bourbon
1.5 oz. Petite Sirah
0.5 oz. lemon juice
0.5 oz. simple syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters
3 blackberries

Step 1

In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, brandy, sugar and orange liqueur. Stir until sugar has dissolved.

Step 2

Stir in wine, orange slices, and raspberries. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 3

Top with sparkling water before serving.

Spiced Pear & Chardonnay Punch

The only way we can describe this medley of flavors is a harvest dream in a glass. Cupcakes & Cutlery were definitely thinking clearly when they designed this recipe featuring a Chardonnay and – revelation – pumpkin pie spice!

Our RoxyAnn Chardonnay channels all the fall vibes with its lively notes of green apple, creamy texture, and subtle oak finish. Add in a dash of this and a dash of that, and you’ve got a Spiced Pear & Chardonnay Punch, the perfect autumn afternoon refresher.

4 oz. Chardonnay
2 oz. pear nectar
1 oz. lime juice
½ oz. simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey
3 sprigs of fresh thyme reserve one for garnish
¼ tsp. pumpkin pie spice

Step 1

Add lime juice and fresh thyme to a cocktail shaker and muddle.

Step 2

Add pumpkin pie spice, sweetener of choice and Chardonnay.

Step 3

Add ice and shake well.

Step 4

Strain over fresh ice in a tall cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of fresh lime and a sprig of thyme and you’re ready to serve.

That Concludes Our Fall Wine Cocktail List!

We hope you enjoy this list of decadent libations, which offer a delightful way to celebrate all the season’s flavors while sipping on your favorite wine varietals!
