2021 End of Harvest Round-up

Our end-of-harvest roundup is glad to report that our fruit quality this year is exceptional. Our flavors and concentrations are impressive and one of our best years yet! As we finish a few pump-overs and turn toward pressing the freshly fermented juice before putting it into the barrel, we want to thank our stellar cellar crew this year! We can’t wait to share all our hard work with you when the moment is perfectly right.

 

As the weather begins to turn toward winter and we see the first frosts of the season, we here at RoxyAnn are glad to let you know that we received our last load of fruit for the 2021 season on October 12th.

 

• It took just 42 days for our team to process 245 tons of fruit.
• Here are a few interesting statistics from this harvest:
• 133 tons of grapes from the RoxyAnn estate vineyards
• 28 tons of grapes purchased from select locale vineyards
• 209 tons of red grapes
• 34 tons of white grapes
• Roughly 200 Nespresso espresso pods, 3 dozen assorted doughnuts, 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies, one apple pie, and 60 bottles of our official harvest beer – Miller High Life – the champagne of beers.

 

As harvest began, the record high temperatures and wildfire smoke were on everyone’s mind. Would these have any effect on the quality of this year’s fruit? We are glad to report that fruit quality this year is exceptional. Our flavors and concentrations are impressive and one of our best years yet! As we finish a few pump-overs and turn toward pressing the freshly fermented juice before putting it into the barrel, we want to thank our stellar cellar crew this year! Ian, Dylan, John, and of course, our tireless forklift driver Chad, without them, we couldn’t have accomplished what we did.
